House
Torr Beatha (Gaelic for “Full of Life”) is a spacious, modern self-catering holiday house set in a tranquil and secluded garden in the village of Kincraig, 6 miles south of Aviemore. Kincraig is a hidden gem, a small village lying slightly off the main Kingussie-Aviemore road in an idyllic setting close to Loch Insh.
Furnished and fitted to a high standard, Torr Beatha has: a large sitting room and dining kitchen, both of which open onto a raised terrace overlooking the garden; three bedrooms, a double, a large twin with an extra roll-under bed and a smaller twin room; a bathroom and a separate WC/shower room.
You can play on the full-sized table tennis table in our large double garage and still have room to park your car! The house is well provided with books, games and jigsaws. The garden has a resident red squirrel - some of our visitors captured him on camera.

The former village shop (it starred in Monarch of the Glen) is now the Old Post Office Cafe and Gallery
serving delicious lunches, coffees, teas, and cakes.
Kincraig village has a tiny pub/bar at the Suie within easy walking distance of the house.
The Boathouse restaurant at Loch Insh is just over a mile away on quiet roads.
The Speyside area has everything to offer in terms of holiday entertainment : Loch Insh Watersports and the Working Sheepdogs display are within minutes of the house, and there are lovely local walks along the loch side and the river Spey.
The Aviemore Centre is just 6 miles away and the Cairngorm ski area 20 minutes by car. The area offers abundant opportunities for walking, watersports, golf, riding, gliding, bird-watching, distillery visiting, caber-tossing and most other activities you might want on an active holiday.

Facilities
Electrical heating (radiators and hot water) is included in the price.
Linen is provided. This comprises, per week, a bath towel and hand towel per person, and a set of bed-linen. For those staying for two weeks, fresh linen can be handed in at the end of week one. The telephone takes incoming calls, and can be used to make outgoing emergency calls. Reception for mobiles is generally good, as is the Wi-Fi connection
The modern kitchen has a microwave as well as the electric oven and hob. There is a large fridge freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine, and also a vacuum cleaner, an iron and an ironing board. The tumble drier is in the garage. There are some lines in the airing cupboard for drying clothes above the hot water tank, and also an outside washing line.
The bathroom has a bath with a shower-head mixer tap, and an electric shaver point. The shower room is separate, and has its own WC and wash basin. There is a TV and DVD/video player.
The lockable garage is huge and hosts a table tennis table (bats and balls provided). There should still be room to store your car plus bicycles, windsurfers and fishing rods securely.
The garden extends to ¾ acre. You can relax on the terrace and enjoy the pure highland air and the distant view of the hills, amid the scattered silver birch trees.
The house is a bungalow with rooms and terrace at the same level but there are a few small steps along the path from the drive to the front door. Wheel chair access should be possible with assistance.
We can provide you with a cot on request.
We only let to non-smokers.
We accept pets by arrangement.
Shopping, the Co-op in Kingussie, south of Kincraig, is open from 6am to 10pm 7 days a week. There is a large Tesco in Aviemore, and Tesco in Inverness has an Internet delivery service.
